Recipe for Tandoori Murgi, which is a delicious Indian dish featuring marinated and grilled chicken:
Ingredients:
1 kg chicken (cut into pieces)
1 cup plain yogurt
2 tablespoons tandoori masala
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Fresh cilantro leaves (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are coated evenly. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight. This will help the flavors penetrate the chicken and make it tender.
Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat. If using a grill, make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 15 minutes.
Drizzle the vegetable oil over the chicken pieces and mix gently to coat them with the oil.
Place the chicken pieces on the grill or a baking tray if using the oven. Cook the chicken for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and nicely charred on the outside. The cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of the chicken pieces.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill or oven and transfer it to a serving platter.
Garnish the Tandoori Murgi with fresh cilantro leaves and serve hot with lemon wedges on the side. It goes well with naan bread or steamed rice.
Enjoy your homemade Tandoori Murgi!
